Uploading Publications to Student Media Websites

This document will be a brief overview and guide on uploading the different publications for websites like brushfire and insight.

Getting the Embed Code

1. Login into the Issuu Website
2. Select a Publication
3. Look in the left corner of the publication for the button labeled Embed On Website
   1. Click on the Button
4. Once on the new page find a purple button label Get Embed Code
5. This will copy the code to your clipboard

Making a Post

1. Sign into the website (Brushfire or Insight)
2. Find the Posts Icon in the left-hand corner
3. Once in the post page find the Add New button at the top of the page
4. Click the Add New Button to take you to the page for making a new post
5. First, title the post with the name of the edition
6. Then below the title click black plus mark
7. This should open a panel where you can search or find a button that says custom HTML
8. Once you click on this it should open a blank text box
   1. Paste the code you copied from the earlier steps into that box
9. Now that you have done that you need to look in the right corner of the website to find the menu option called post
10. Once you click on it you should see a scrolling menu
    1. It should have a bunch of check boxes
    2. Check the box labeled Editions Only
11. Scroll below that until you find the section labeled Featured Image
    1. Use the cover image of the publication for this
    2. If you don’t have the cover image, then you can download it using Adobe
       1. First Download a PDF Version of the Publication
       2. Open it in Adobe Acrobat DC
       3. Click on the Image
       4. Then Right Click and Select Save Image As
12. Once you have used the featured image section to upload an image scroll back to the top of the page
13. Click the Blue Publish Button
