The wait list automatically enrolls students in closed classes as seats become available. Students are added based on their position on the wait list, so there is no need to continually check MyNEVADA for openings. Students may wait list up to 8 credits per semester.
Important: If you are enrolled from the wait list, you will receive a notification at your University email address and the class will be added to your schedule automatically.
-
When searching for classes, un-check "Show Open Classes Only" to view classes that are full.

-
Look for the yellow triangle icon, which indicates the class has a wait list.

-
Add the class to your Shopping Cart.
-
Select "Wait list if class is full" and continue through the enrollment process.

-
Continue the process as you would when normally enrolling for a course..
-
After submission, a confirmation message will display your wait list status and position number on the wait list.

Wait Listing A Class You Are Already Enrolled In
Students may join the wait list for multiple sections of the same course. If you are enrolled from a wait list, you will automatically be removed from the wait lists for all other sections of that course.
If you are already enrolled in a course and would like a different section, use the Swap feature in MyNEVADA to join the wait list for the preferred section.
Important: If you add yourself to another section's wait list without using Swap, you will not be enrolled from the wait list because you are already enrolled in the course.
- Next, select the class you want to swap from the "Select From Your Schedule" drop-down menu (indicated with the red arrow) and then search for the section of the class you would like to wait list.
Note: While searching, be sure to un-check the 'Show Open Classes Only' check box.

- Review the course information to make sure you selected the correct class to swap for and ensure that you have the "Wait list if class is full" box checked.
Click Next.
-
The next screen shows which class will be swapped if space becomes available.
Confirm the class you are swapping for and finish by clicking Finish Swapping.

- Once you have completed the steps, you will see a message confirming your placement and position on the wait list.

Common Reasons Students Are Not Enrolled from the Wait List
There are several reasons why a student may not be enrolled from the wait list. These reasons can include:
- Time Conflict: MyNEVADA does not check if a time conflict exists until the wait list attempts to enroll. This means students need to be sure no time conflicts exists with the wait lists they are on and the classes they are fully enrolled in.
- Prerequisites: If a class has listed prerequisites (classes which must be completed before enrolling) students must be sure they meet the listed prerequisites before placing themselves onto a wait list. MyNEVADA does not check to see if a student has satisfied prerequisites until the wait list attempts to enroll.
- Reserve Capacity: Certain sections of a class may be reserved for a cohort of students (i.e. Honors, LLC, Student Athletes). Students must be sure they meet the listed reserve capacity (if one is listed) before placing themselves on a wait list. If a student on the wait list does not meet the reserve capacity the wait list will not enroll them.
