Summary

Steps for printing to a Canon SecurePrint from a Windows machine.

The most common usage of the Canon SecurePrint machines will be to use them as a regular printer. The process for using these machines as printers is not as simple as other types of printers, but can be used fairly easily by following these steps. 

  • Selecting the Canon Printer 
  • Confirm your department so that it can be billed properly via the uniFLOW client
  • Log into the Canon machine 
  • Release the print job so that it will be sent to the printer

Printing to the Canon SecurePrint Machine

  1. Prepare your desired document for printing just like normal. 
  2. After clicking on Print make sure that SecurePrint on pahrah.unr.edu is the selected printer, as it may not be set as your default printer.

  3. The Canon Printer on your Windows machine defaults to black and white. Click on Printer Properties and select Color or Auto [Color/B&W] from the Color Mode options on the bottom of the Basic Settings tab and Click OK.

  4. Confirm your print options and click Print in the application. 
  5. If you have more than one cost center you will see a popup that has you select what department you wish to print with.  If you only have one cost center you will not see any additional popups.
  6. Log into the Canon SecurePrint machine.
    Printer log in screen which indicates you should either swipe your ID card(WolfCard) or use the AD Login button on the lower right hand side which will allow you to log in with your 6-digit PIN.

    Note: You may be prompted to select a department on login. Be aware that all mobile print/copy/scan activity will be recorded against the selected department until you log out. Computer printing activity will be recorded against the department you selected on your computer through the uniFLOW Client.

  7. Pressing the Secure Print icon on the home screen of the copier will bring you to the print queue.

  8. Find your print job from the list on the left side of the screen.

  9. Highlight the document you wish to print by touching the name on the screen with your finger.  You can choose to either Print and Delete or Print and Keep the job you select.
  10. The document will now be printed and your account will be charged.
