Using the Planner

Students can use the Academic Planner to map out future semesters in their course of study at the University of Nevada.  Via the Plan By Requirements tool, students can run audits including planned coursework.  Or, students can use the Course Catalog to add classes to their planner. 


To access your planner click on the Enrollment tile from your Student Homepage.

Next, on the left hand side menu click Planner:

To add courses, select the Add from Course Catalog or Add from Requirements links.

To search for classes in the catalog enter a keyword and hit search. For example: ENG 102

If you are unsure how the course is to be listed you can click on the Additional ways to search for a drop down menu for assistance:

Ensure to hit Search to begin the search in the catalog. 


The class should now appear as a search result. You will be provided the Subject, Catalog number and course name.

Click on the course you would like to add to your planner. By clicking on the class you will also be provided the class details. From this page you have two options. You can either choose View Classes or Add to Planner. The View Classes will take you to class offerings within our current class schedule, and Add to Planner will add the class to your planner for you. 


When you are ready to add your class to the Planner, click the Add to Planner button in the top right hand corner:

Once the course has been added to your planner, a green message at the top of the page will appear letting you know it has been added successfully:

To return back to the Search Results page, use the Course Search Results button in the left hand corner. To return to the planner, click the Planner button in the left hand corner twice. This will bring you back to your Planner Homepage where you should now see that you have 1 course in your Unassigned courses group.

To review the courses you have in your planner, and assign them to a specific term, click on the Unassigned Courses box. This will bring up all the classes you have currently in your planner. To assign that class to a specific term, click on the course you would like to assign. From this page you have three options: 

1) Move to Term  - by clicking this you are provided the option to assign the course to a term. 

2) View Classes - by clicking this you will be directed to a class search of current offerings for this course. 

3) Delete - by clicking this you will delete the course from your planner.

To assign a course to a term select the Move to Term button. This will provide you a drop down menu in which you can select the term you would like to assign the course to:

Select the term you wish, and hit Save. This will return you back to your Planner Homepage where you will see the course is now assigned to a term:

To add additional courses to your planner, you will follow the same steps indicated above. 


Add from My Requirements:

To add a course using the My Requirements link, click on the Add from My Requirements button from the Planner page:

You will then be taken to your Academic Progress page where you can review which requirements you still need to satisfy.

Review your progress report and locate a requirement showing as not satisfied- such as this example below:

To select that requirement, click on the course and it will bring up the requirement page:

To add this course to your planner, click on the class offering and select Add to Planner in the top right hand corner:

To return back to the Requirement Details page, use the Requirement Details button in the left hand corner. To return to the Academic Progress report, click the Academic Progress button in the left hand corner. Lastly, to return back to your planner, select the Planner button in the top left hand corner. This will bring you back to your Planner Homepage where you should now see that you have 1 course in your Unassigned courses group.

To review the courses you have in your unassigned courses group, and assign them to a specific term, click on the Unassigned Courses box. This will bring up all the classes you have currently in your planner. To assign that class to a specific term, click on the course you would like to assign. From this page you have three options:
