Resetting your NSHE ID password

These instructions will allow you to reset your NSHE ID password using MyNevada 2.0. Additional instructions for retrieving, and resetting the password for, an NSHE ID, can be found on the MyNevada Help site.

How to Manually Reset Your NSHE ID Password in MyNevada

  1. Go to
  2. On the web page that appears, click on Forgot NSHE-ID Password?

  3. Enter in your NSHE ID number and complete the Security Check section.  Once complete, click on the Next button.

  4. You may be asked a security question, answer the question and click Submit

  5. Check your primary email listed in MyNevada. You will receive and email with your temporary password. Please check your spam folder if you do not see the email in your inbox.
  6. Go back to and enter in your NSHE ID and the temporary password from the email. 
  7. You will receive a message that your password has expired. Click on the link that states Click here to change your password

  8. Enter the temporary password as your current password. Create a password and re-enter that password in the confirm password box. When you are ready click Change Password.

  9. If you have successfully changed your password a pop-up will display asking you if you wish to return to the homepage. Click Yes to return to your homepage or No if you do not wish to do so.
