NetID

The NetID (Network Identification) is a unique username that is automatically generated for all current students, faculty and staff of the University of Nevada, Reno. You must activate your NetID when you first arrive at the University, and then reset the password at least once a year afterwards.

If you do not know your NetID or require assistance resetting your NetID password, you can contact the OIT Support Center and a technician will be available to assist you.

NSHE ID

The NSHE ID is a 10-digit number (e.g. 8000123456) and system-wide unique identifier that is automatically granted to each student, faculty and staff member within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). All students and applicants should use this number to access MyNevada.

The NSHE ID will provide continuity and security for individuals when dealing with system-wide issues. Regardless of how many Higher Education institutions in Nevada you attend or are employed at, your NSHE ID will always remain the same. After graduation, the NSHE ID will remain active to allow for logging into MyNevada in order to retrieve records including transcript and tax information.
