Microsoft Security Essentials (known as Windows Defender in Windows 10) is anti-virus software for the Windows 7 operating system and is automatically installed on University-owned PCs. No other anti-virus software is necessary.

University-owned and managed computers will automatically have Microsoft Security Essentials (or Windows Defender) installed on them. If you believe your computer is missing anti-virus software, please use the Report an Issue with Software or Online Application form to request assistance.
