Microsoft Windows Defender

Windows Defender (known as Microsoft Security Essentials in Windows 7) is anti-virus software for the Windows 10 operating system and is automatically installed on University-owned PCs. No other anti-virus software is necessary.

Access and Support

Get Windows Defender

University-owned and managed computers will automatically have Windows Defender (or Microsoft Security Essentials) installed on them. If you believe your computer is missing anti-virus software, please use the Report an Issue with Software or Online Application form to request assistance.

Request Support

If you believe you have a virus on your UNR-owned computer and would like assistance, please submit the Report an Office Computer Issue form.
