Restore NetID Access

With sufficient justification, a request can be made to temporarily restore a former employee's NetID. The NetID access can only be granted for a maximum of two weeks; if access is needed for more than two weeks, the former employee will need to be entered into Workday with a Volunteer B or Affiliate 2 contract.

Similarly, an employee who is between contracts may have his or her NetID reinstated in order to access certain University resources during the gap in employment.

Requirements

The person completing the form must be a department liaison; the request cannot be submitted by the individual needing their NetID restored or extended.

Approval

The department chair or dean (Approving Authority) must provide approval for the access before OIT's Identity Management team can consider the request  If the person completing the form is not also the Approving Authority, the Approving Authority will be emailed for his or her approval. Once approved, the ticket will route to the Identity Management team for review and processing. Restoring or extending NetID access is at the discretion of the OIT Identity Management team and dependent on the justification given and licensing policies of the resources needed.
