Managed Employee Information Security Training

Managed information security training may be assigned to employees to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, or standards. This training is for employees only and must be requested via the Managed Security Training Request.

Courses Available: 

PCI-DSS Annual Training:

This course teaches employees and supervisors what Payment Card Industry (PCI) is, how it affects your organization, and the best practices to follow to protect cardholder data and detect and prevent fraud. 

 

HIPAA-HITECH Annual Training:

This training is specifically tailored to help employees understand what information is private, why it is private, and what they can do to protect it.

General Questions

How do I access my account? 
If you have been assigned mandatory training, you will receive an email from University of Nevada, Reno <do-not-reply@unr.edu> with your login link that directs you to a page to use your NetID to log in to the KnowBe4 system.  

How do I sign up my employees for mandatory training?
If you are a supervisor and would like to assign mandatory training for your employees, please submit a Managed Security Training Request.

How do I know if I have been assigned mandatory training?
If you have been assigned mandatory training, you will receive an email from University of Nevada, Reno <do-not-reply@unr.edu> with your login link that directs you to a page to use your NetID to log in to the KnowBe4 system and lists the campaign(s) that you have been assigned.

Do I have to take PCI and/or HIPAA-HITECH training? If so, how often?
Individuals who handle, process, or have access to payment cards or payment card information must complete PCI training each year; and individuals who work with protected health information (PHI) must complete HIPAA-HITECH training each year.
