Setting a Custom Expiration Date and/or URL

Custom links can be used to share a file or contents of a folder with a more memorable address than the shared links created by default.

How to Create a Custom URL and/or Adjust the Default Expiration Date

  1. Open up the file or folder that you would like to share (remember: you must be the owner of the file or folder). Click on Share then Get Shared Link

  3. This will open the Shared Link Setting menu. Fill out the following information:

Custom URL (Optional): Enter what you would like your link to be here. It will be in the format of https://nevada.box.com/v/customlink
Link Expiration: Set the date on which you would like the link to expire, or uncheck the checkbox if you prefer the link not to expire. By default, links will expire after 60 days, with notification 7 days before expiration.
Allow Download: This allows users with access to this link to download the files included in the folder.

As soon as all the information is filled out, click on Save.
It is not recommended to use a Custom URL when sharing sensitive information. By default, shared links are deliberately complex to prevent anyone from successfully guessing the location of a shared file or folder.
