The following instructions will assist you in adding your @unr.edu email address into Mozilla Thunderbird.
Thunderbird has been approved for Linux users and as an alternative email platform.
Accessing Your Employee Email Account in Mozilla Thunderbird
- Update Thunderbird to v154 or newer
- Open Account Hub: Menu ☰ → New Account → Email.
- Automatic detection:
- Enter your university email address.
- If Graph is detected, choose Microsoft Graph API in the account type list and click Continue
- Manual setup (if auto-detect fails):
- In Account Hub, choose Manual Configuration
- Protocol: Graph
- Exchange endpoint URL: https://graph.microsoft.com
- Authentication: OAuth2
- Username: your university email address
- Sign in via Microsoft: You’ll be redirected to Microsoft’s OAuth sign‑in page; complete authentication and return to Thunderbird
