Mac Printer Driver Installation

The Office of Information Technology is unable to automatically push out the Canon SecurePrint printer drivers to Mac computers. To manually install the Canon printer drivers on your computer, please follow these instructions. 

Installing the Printer Driver

  1. Click on the Apple Icon in the upper-left corner of the screen, and select System Settings...

  2. In the System Settings... window select Printers & Scanners. To add a new printer, click the "+" button at the bottom left of the window or the Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax‚Ķ button if no "+" button is present.   3. Right click (Or hold Control on your keyboard and left click) in the Add Printer menu and in the menu that appears select Customize Toolbar...
  4. Drag the Advanced gear icon up into the toolbar and click Done.

  5. Click on the Advanced button and fill in the following settings in each drop down menu. 

    Type: Windows printer via spoolss

    Device: Another Device

    URL: smb://

    Name: SecurePrint

    Location: This can be left blank. 

    Use: Generic PostScript Printer

  6. Check the Duplex Printing box and hit Okay.
  7. Now that you have the printer driver installed, it is necessary to install the uniFLOW Client as well. You will not be able to print without the uniFLOW software installed. 
  8. Once you've sent your first print job, a dialog box will appear prompting you to enter the Name field in the form of your then enter your NetID password. Make sure to check the Remember this password in my keychain box to save your login information for future print jobs then hit OK.
