Mac Printer Driver Installation

The Office of Information Technology is unable to automatically push out the Canon SecurePrint printer drivers to Mac computers. To manually install the Canon printer drivers on your computer, please follow these instructions. 

Installing the Printer Driver

  1. Click on the Apple Icon in the upper-left corner of the screen, and select System Preferences...

  2. In the System Preferences... window select Printers & Scanners.

  3. When the dialog box appears, click on the + button at the bottom left of the screen.

  4. Right click in the Add Printer menu and in the menu that appears select Customize Toolbar...
  5. Drag the Advanced gear icon up into the toolbar and click Done.

  6. Click on the Advanced button, and fill in the following settings. 

    Type: Windows printer via spoolss

    Device: Another Device

    URL: smb://

    Name: SecurePrint

    Location: This can be left blank. 

    Use: Generic PostScript Printer 
    Add a printer advanced dialogue window with all the settings from the above instructions.
  7. After completing the entries, click Add. 

Now that you have the printer driver installed, it is necessary to install the uniFLOW Client as well. You will not be able to print without the uniFLOW software installed.
