In order to provide timely application of updates, patches and stability fixes, OIT has two separate weekly maintenance windows designated for updating centralized public facing services (systems, servers, networking, etc.). Services with no changes or that have more specific times for updates during these two maintenance windows may be available but cannot be guaranteed. If users are working on or off campus during these two windows of time during the week, it is strongly recommended they save their work often. Any unavoidable service outage outside of these two designated maintenance windows will be announced in advance.
Sunday Morning Weekly Services Maintenance Window

Thursday Morning Weekly Services Maintenance Window
1:00AM PST to 5:00AM PST
Monthly: Managed Computers (Desktop and Mobile)
In order to provide timely application of updates, patches and stability fixes, and minimize disruptions during regular business hours, OIT has two separate monthly maintenance windows designated for updating managed desktop and mobile computers. Available updates will be “pushed” (downloaded and installed) on all managed computers during these two windows of time. Unmanaged computers are not included in this maintenance schedule. If managed computers are not powered on during the monthly maintenance windows, updates are queued up and received by the computer the next time it’s turned on before 8am or after 3pm (NOTE: Computers may run slow when receiving multiple updates.). Required system reboots may be postponed by the user until the next updates get pushed (approximately 30 days, previous update reboots are required before further updates can be installed). Please contact your technical support person or the OIT Support Center for any exception requests on specialized systems.
