MATLAB

MATLAB (matrix laboratory) is a multi-paradigm numerical computing environment. A proprietary programming language developed by MathWorks, MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C++, C#, Java, Fortran and Python. 

The University of Nevada, Reno has a campus-wide license for MATLAB that includes all MATLAB toolbox add-ons, which can be installed on your personal or university-owned computer.

Access and Support

Get MATLAB

• MATLAB is available to all University members on the BlueWolf DataWorks virtual desktop and can be accessed in the following student computer labs: DataWorks North, DataWorks South, DMS 106, and the Math Center. 
• MATLAB can be downloaded via the Software Center on University machines. For personal computers, MATLAB can be downloaded via a self-installer on the MathWorks portal.
• MATLAB is available to high performance computing users on Pronghorn.

• MathWorks Tech Support: All students, faculty, and researchers are entitled to full technical and installation support. The MathWorks team can be reached at (508) 647-7000 (Option 3 then Option 1) from MON – FRI 5:30AM – 5:00PM PST.
• Additional Questions: Use the Software and Online Apps forms for additional MATLAB support and questions.
