The Canon SecurePrint machines are jointly managed by the Office of Information Technology and Central Services, with technical support from Ray Morgan Company. These devices offer printing, scanning, and copying via a specialized management software on your computer called uniFLOW.

A number of applications used at the University (including WebCampus) rely on Java to provide their services. The campus approved version of Java can be installed from the Software Center, and doesn't require Administrative Privileges.

In this section are the steps to make sure that Java has not been disabled in Internet Explorer, as well as the troubleshooting steps you should take to ensure your applications run smoothly.

NOTE: The campus approved version of Java is not compatible with Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Safari. As such, OIT recommends that you use Internet Explorer for any web page that requires Java.

OneDrive is a Microsoft cloud-based storage solution. OneDrive is part of Office 365 but can be downloaded to your computer for ease of use. OneDrive files can be shared with collaborators who also have a Microsoft account.

When individuals leave the University they will no longer have access to the files in their OneDrive account. Their files will need to be transferred to a personal account or to another University faculty or staff or they will be lost.

Microsoft SharePoint is an online collaboration tool ideal for departments who need to centralize lists, documents, and discussions in one place, and limit the access given to those items. It is commonly used at the University for Project Management, resource lists, and a central place to store employee's leave records.

Most departments on campus already have a dedicated SharePoint site. However, any SharePoint space can be created and managed for more specific groups if necessary. SharePoint has been set up to allow departments to manage access themselves, although a dedicated Systems Administrator is available if necessary.

Microsoft Teams is a unified communications platform that combines persistent workplace chat, video meetings, file storage (including collaboration on files), and application integration. It is the recommended video conferencing tool for administrative and non-instructional meetings.

NevadaBox is a cloud-based storage solution for students, faculty, and staff at the University of Nevada, Reno. This storage solution is intended to be for University-related work only. Files on NevadaBox can be easily shared with collaborators who also have Box account.

New Data Storage Limit: Box has updated their policy to no longer offer unlimited storage, which has affected the University and requires migration of data in some cases. More information about individual and department storage quotas can be found in the NevadaBox Policies and Procedures article below.
